Pages

I finally got my digital tear sheets from the paper today. Thought I would share a few. You will be able to see a comprehensive collection of my clips on my newly revised website in a little once it goes live.

These clips that I chose show both high and low points of my time in Gwinnett. I've learned that as a newspaper photojournalist there is a time to check emotions at the door, but never humanity. I admit there were times where I had to use my camera as a buffer from either tears or laughter in order to do my job. I feel that there is a healthy balance that everyone eventually must learn to master.

LIGHTS...camera...action!!!!

YAY, my Allien Bee's (B800's) finally came in today. It has been a fun day of rearranging my living room furniture in order to create a home studio and then taking silly self portraits of my new haircut. Yes, thats right. I now have short hair!

Alright, now is the fun part. Who wants to come over and have their photo taken?!?

City Beauty

Yesterday morning I stopped at Centennial Park on my way into the city for a little inspiration. I was in desperate need of a deep breath of city beauty before I let myself get caught up in the hustle and bustle that is Atlanta. It was such a beautiful spring day. The fountains were turned back on and the sun was shining so crisp. I couldn't resist, I found myself back there that evening to shoot some more.

The Depot...

Nothing like Saturday lunch/dinner with friends at Atlanta's Depot. It is so hard for me to pass up beautiful light and an incredibly old sign... It's times like this that I am glad it has been ingrained in me to always carry my camera and not be ashamed to take a walk away from the crowd in order to freeze frame life even for just a moment.

Clear Blue Skys

After two hours of waiting at LAX and praying that I would get bumped and forced to stay in Los Angeles a little longer, I boarded probably the largest plane I''ve ever been on (not good if you're trying to get bumped), and headed back to the ATL. As soon as we took off, this is what I saw out my window. It was such a beatiful day to fly. At the hight of our flight at 33,000 feet I was still able to see clear down. I feel so blessed that I got to see a complete horizontal line across the entire country (minus what I missed during the 30 min nap I took). So Beautiful!

LA-Take One

I realized today that I have not been a tourist with a camera in hand in a real long time. I finally got myself out of the ping-pong lifestyle I've been living between Atlanta and Sarasota for the past 8 months and jet set myself out to L.A. for some rejuvenated inspiration. I am beginning to see why the angels chose this city to dwell in!

Nothing like starting the day off with friends eating breakfast at an amazing street side organic cafe along Beverly Dr. in Beverly Hills!

On our amazing drive through the beautiful, historic, palm tree arch covered Beverly Hills we made a few stops for some must take cliche photos! (shh... secretly we were looking for Lauren Conrad!.lol)

I was determined to find a spot to take this photo! mission accomplished.

And last but not least, the site of me enjoying life!Gotta love the fashions of Los Angeles. O yeah, and they have pretty neat fitting rooms too!. Inside American Apparel on Hollywood blvd.
