So after 4 weeks of living in Atlanta I finally got out to the 17th street bridge to take a photo of this amazing skyline. I walked there from my place, so this is just an example of what I get to see every night.

One of the guys at work promised me a rooftop view within the next few weeks, so stay tuned for a higher angle with a little longer exposure....

but for now, enjoy my new city...

Emotions Underground

So today we hit up the "Underground" here in ATL to make images depicting emotion. This is what I felt and captured.

Love- "Love is patient, Love is Kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, It is not self-seeking, it is not it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always preserves. Love never Fails." ICorinthians 13:4-8

Pain-Many who search for fame look in all the wrong places. Many chose to search after life on their own fame, looking at the things they have accomplished, the awards won and the positions held. All this will bring only pain.By surrendering life to Christ, fulfillment is granted and future determined. "For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans to prosper you and give you a hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Envy- "My son, if your heart is wise, then my heart will be glad. My inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right. Do not let your heart envy sinners, but always be zealous for the fear of the Lord. There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off." Proverbs 23:15-18

Lust- "You have heard that it was said,'Do not commit adultery.'But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell." Mathew 5:27-29

Tentonic

So this weekend I shoot stills for Tentonic's first music video in which the video guy I work with, Jonathan, was filming. We shot for two days consecutively on top of the Blood and Fire building in Atlanta. It was so great to go back to band photography, which was the first thing that got me into photography six years ago. It was as if I got a breath of fresh air, roof top city air to be exact. These are just a few of my favorites... ENJOY!

The Band....TENTONIC

The Lead Vocals...Sid

The Video Guy...Jonathan Fambrough

Fountain photos on a 30 min parking meter

So this afternoon I decided to go out in downtown and take some photos. It was a beautiful day so I headed for the water.. that fountains in Centennial that is;) Parking in ATL is complicated so I could only find a 30 min spot.. so these are all within about 22 mins because I took some audio too. Stay tuned for soundslides. My recorder failed me, and I am working on a way to recovery the sound bites. So for now.. enjoy the still moments...

Details are all that remain

Detail shots from a project I'm working on in regards to the tearing down of the Blood and Fire buildings within the perimeter of Atlanta. After 10 years of ministry and 110 years of existence, the buildings must go in order to provide the land for a newly zoned 17 story skyscraper. So one day the building just shut down leaving everything abandon, including the coffee pot with coffee in it.

People of Blood and Fire

So after 10 years, Blood and Fire Ministries are tearing down their 110-year-old building and selling the old wood and bricks to raise money to put back into the Kingdom of God. With a group of 7 workers and a supervisor, the team goes to work six days a week tearing up old wood, and knocking down and cleaning bricks, all to get them ready to package and sell. There is such a high demand with contractors for old wood and old bricks, which is what homeowners are demanding in todays day.

Screen on the Green

Every Thursday during the summer at sundown, there is a movie shown on the green at Piedmont Park. People flock form all over the city and surrounding areas to stake their blanket size plot early in the day, to relax into the evening with a picnic.

This Thursday marked the first of the summer series starting off with Casablanca.

note to self: there is always that one guy... I'll make sure to bring my tripod this week when they show Carwash.

Little Five Points

So a lot of the fun of this week, outside of working on my story, has been exploring. The guys at work took us out to dinner the other night in Little Five Points.. So Fun!

P.S. A little story update, its going good however I am not going to be able to post any of the photos till the end of the summer due to publication issues. Like any story It is forcing me to grow and push my limits. YAY for internships..lol.. so for now enjoy my fun photos outside of my serious story!

Land Locked Memorial Day

With Atlanta being land locked and Memorial day usually involving sun and water,Atlanta residents got creative.

While I was out and about using the day to explore this amazing city, I found Centennial Park, AKA, a watering hole to those who can substitute city retention pond for enjoyable day in the water.. Being from the beach, I just can't do it.

I saw the signs, but I also saw all the people in the water so I didn't think a big to-do about it, until I was on my way out of the park when I walked by the water again to see it empty with police around it, apparently it was really against the rules to swim in the water.
