Marrero Family

I enjoyed having the Marrero family in the studio last week. We had a fun portrait session with Mom Darlene, Dad Dan, and Sister and Brothers Ariana, Lorenzo and Javi.

Such a fun day with an incredible family.

This last one is just for Fun... "Can you make it look like I'm flying"

In December I spent a day with Atlanta based artist Hope Hayes Thomas of Liquid Grace. Hope is a LSU graduate, a wife, and a mother of 2. I spent the day with Hope and her kids as she was preparing paintings for an upcoming art show she had. One of my favorite photo from the day was one I made as she was getting her kids ready to take a break in the park for lunch.

Lobby Day Multimedia

Check out the collaboration of our Lobby Day Multimedia done by the Whitestone Motion Pictures team.

you can see more of my photos from that day on the whitestone site.

Lobby Day from Brandon McCormick on Vimeo.

It is so powerful for me to see video, still photography, music and a cause all come together to create a piece of work that speaks truth, and acts as a catalyst for change.

Lobby Day

I set off on a documentary adventure last week with Director Brandon McCormick of Whitestone Motion Pictures to document a group of college students who loaded onto school buses in Gwinnett, an Atlanta suburb, and road into the city to gather at the capitol and join in lobbying against child sex-trafficking. Students joined with lobbyist from "A future. Not a Past." to lobby for senate bill 69 which would amend title 19 by revising a paragraph relating to 'sexual exploitation' and the reporting of child abuse. Title 19 as it stands allows 'sexual exploitation' to be considered child abuse only if conducted by a child's parent or caretaker. Senate bill 69 would amend the clause "child's parent or caretaker" and replace it with the phrase "any person".

Thought I would pass along a few Color out-takes as well... It was a beautiful, cold, windy day.
